A 100% Australian owned and operated national company
Spanning 48 years of specialised service, SPM provide broad-spectrum and cost-effective pest and weed management solutions to clients of all sectors, requirements and scale.
Commencing as a national franchise operation, over the last 15 years, SPM has progressively bought back its franchise operations to company store management operations and has centralised administration to bring economies of scale to the operation. SPM is currently re-positioning itself through its innovative reporting technologies to target the mining, facilities management, industrial, agriculture, government and commercial segments.
SPM recognise that the Pest and Weed Control industry is fragmented, comprising a vast number of small players with only a
few industry heavyweights present. SPM has seen this as a significant opportunity in the existing marketplace to uniquely position and differentiate its service offerings to penetrate the existing sector and increase market share, targeting higher yield services.
Chris Jones, the Managing Director of SPM recognises that it is “very hard to quantify the services of pest and weed control to give clients peace of mind that scheduled services are actually taking place cost effectively and efficiently.
In particular, this concern is expressed by those large clients such as facilities management companies and mining and resource management companies who engage pest control providers to service a large number of facilities spread across a broad geographical region, often in very remote locations.
More and more clients are demanding a service audit trail to verify that services are being performed in accordance with contract specifications”.
In identifying this issue, SPM have developed a suite of unique proprietary pest service reporting solutions under the brand name “Pest Report” to provide real-time comprehensive audit and performance reporting to its large clients. SPM recognises this is
a key to differentiating its offered services from its competition.
Chris stated that the time has come for the industry to ‘raise the bar’ in its standards and degree of service delivery to keep up with increasing regulatory and compliance demands placed on its client base and also provide a timely, effective and efficient reporting solution that is truly meaningful to its customer base.
As part of the company’s change process, SPM has engaged David from de Blonk Smith Young to review the corporate structure and help with succession planning. “David has helped us to ensure that our structure is appropriate for the planned changes and growth in our business” said Chris.
SPM are progressively rolling out their proprietary reporting solution across all its pest and weed control services and working closely with its client base across Australia to provide tailored reporting solutions that meet and surpass existing client demands.
