How can you increase productivity in the workplace?

    By de Blonk Smith Young | Business Tips | 0 comment | 1 July, 2015 | 0

The answer could be to have more fun!

There is a lot of research that suggests that people who enjoy their work and have fun in the workplace are generally more engaged and productive.

A workplace that is fun to be in can improve productivity in the following ways:

    • People are more motivated
    • Less stress
    • Builds trust
    • Improved staff retention

Obviously, the challenge is to foster a ‘fun’ working environment and maintain an acceptable level of professionalism.  It is possible to have fun in a professional work environment. Why not consider adopting one or more of the following activities:

    • Hold ‘fun events’ during office hours (after hours can be problematic)
    • Provide food on nominated days
    • Celebrate special occasions (e.g. birthdays)

At the end of the day, if people look forward to going to work most days (yes, there may be days when you would rather be somewhere else) the work environment will be more productive.

If you would like help improving productivity in your business, please contact David Young or John de Blonk Smith or call us on 07 3221 4465.
